Clinical Nutritional Research Centre (CNRC)
A core platform of the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences, A*STAR
The Clinical Nutritional Research Centre (CNRC) was established as a joint initiative by the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences, and National University Health System (NUHS), to specialise in human nutrition research. As an converging hub where innovative ideas and people interact, the centre will be grounded on science, with a firm understanding of Asian dietary habits, and be engaged in creating new foods that mitigate emerging chronic diseases.
The centre is also dedicated in being Singapore’s 1st academic centre for clinical nutrition.
Of particular focus, are the following research areas:
- Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes
- Women’s Nutrition
- Food-Nutrient Interactions
- Aging
CNRC works closely with the Growth, Development and Metabolism Programme at SICS, as well as tapping onto the strengths of other platforms ( SAMS, AMPS, GUSTO and VOFIO) to extend the utility of findings from the cohort studies on metabolic dysfunction, enabling scientific discoveries to improve everyday nutrition.
