
The Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences (SICS) was created just a few short years ago as part of the initiative to develop Translational and Clinical Research expertise and programs in Singapore. The Mission of SICS is:
To improve the health and economic well being of Singaporeans by better understanding Asian-relevant diseases and by developing new diagnostics and therapeutics.
To carry out our mission we are committed to:
- Excellence in conducting hypothesis-driven disease-oriented research
- Developing a better understand of the pathogenesis of Asian-relevant diseases and developmental processes
- Building partnerships with ASTAR RI’s, universities, medical schools, hospitals, companies and public health agencies to conduct multidisciplinary research and to exploit the knowledge thus gained
- Training the next generation of clinical and translational investigators
Through the recruitment of an outstanding group of faculty and staff, we are engaged in internationally competitive research focused on human health and disease, and we are training future research leaders for Singapore’s academic institutions and industries.
