The Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences (SICS) is supported through the Agency for Science Technology and Research (A*STAR) to establish translational research programs. The institute has 16 Principal Investigators (PIs) and a total staff strength of about 120 . The primary focus of the research programs at SICS’ Growth, Development and Metabolism (GDM) Program is to understand the developmental origins of individual differences in human health and capacity. Research emphasizes metabolic health and neural development within existing longitudinal birth cohort studies and targeted partnerships with clinical- and community-based services.
SICS is seeking applications for positions with appointment at the level of Principal Investigator or Assistant Principal Investigator in human neural development with a focus on infant and early childhood and development. The successful candidate will be supported to develop independent research programs and actively lead human neurodevelopmental research programs within existing Singaporean birth cohort studies. Research opportunities include the cohorts as well as access to extensive neuro-imaging facilities, a strong local collaborative network in child and adolescent mental health research and the opportunity for cross-appointments with internationally-leading Singapore universities (National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University).
Establish an independent research program focusing on human neurodevelopment with an emphasis on cognitive and/or emotional functions,
- Become actively engaged in leadership of collaborative research on these same themes within the context of existing and planned longitudinal birth cohort studies,
- Participate in the design and management of collaborative research projects within the SICS Neuroscience program.
- PhD in Psychology, Cognitive, Affective or Social Neuroscience, or related disciplines
